Juan FERRER
Born in Montserrat (Valencia-Spain) in 1968, he began his Music studies at the local Music Society and continued at the Conservatory of Music in Valencia obtaining the highest marks (honours in his final year). Then he completed the Advanced Level at the Conservatory Joaquín Rodrigo in Valencia, obtaining again the highest marks and a unanimous Honour award. Concurrently, studied with the teachers José Vicente Herrera, Larry Passin, Andrew Marriner, Alan Damiens, Walter Boeykens, Anthony Giglioti, Guy Deplus, Roy Jehuda Gilad, etc… Between 1992 and 1993 he worked with the Catalonia National Orchestra (OBNC) assiduously. In February 1993, chosen by the teacher Jehuda Gilad, he obtained a scholarship to study at the University of Southern California (USA) with teachers Mitchell Lurie and Michelle Zuckovsky.
Since 1994 he is part of the Symphony Orchestra of Galicia, as principal Clarinet, with active symphonic and operatic work, as well as playing as a soloist. Touring around Europe and America etc… Working with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Daniel Harding, James Conlon, Sir Neville Marriner, Osmo Vanska, Guennadi Rozdestvenski, Peter Maag, Jesús López Cobos, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Cristoph Eschenbach, Juanjo Mena, Alberto Zedda.
He has been invited to work with the Orchestras: Radio television Española, Sinfónica de Madrid, Leizpig Radio Symphony Orchestra, Teatre del Lliceu Orchestra (Barcelona), Palau de las Arts Orchestra (Valencia), Catalonia National Orchestra (OBNC). He has toured around Spain and Europe too as a member of Untía Trio, XX Century instrumental band and the Quintet of Soloists of the SOG.

As a teacher, he often works with the Galicia Youth Symphony Orchestra, Euskadi Youth Symphony Orchestra and Catalonia Youth Symphony Orchestra. Besides, he is frequently invited to teach courses in Spain, France, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica; Lisbon (international clarinet festival 2010 and 2014), Argentina (Buenos Aires) 2011 II international clarinet festival. He Has also participated as a Spanish artist.. in the I, II, III, IV, y V Iberoamerican academy of Clarinet.
Currently recording a CD for clarinet and piano with the great pianist Daniel del Pino with pieces by well-known international composers (Fernando Buide, Octavio Vázquez, Salvador Brotóns, Vladimir Rosinskij, Karolis Biveinis, Juan Duran etc..). In February 2014 he took part as a teacher in the International Clarinet Festival of Caracas (Venezuela) and played as a soloist with the Symphonic Band Simon Bolivar concert nº2 by Oscar Navarro.
Other events he has participated in: International Festival of Chamber music in Rio de Janeiro and International Clarinet Congress of Rio de Janeiro (September 2014), Chamber music concerts in Switzerland (January 2015) End of time quartet, Brahms trio. In April 2015 was in the jury of the prestigious International Clarinet competition in Ghent (Belgium). In November 2015 took part in the International Festival of Rio de Janeiro as a soloist and teacher (as a Buffet artist); Colombia (Manizales University), Costa Rica..
In November 2016 he has been invited to be part of the jury in the International Clarinet Competition of the National Conservatory P.Tchaikovsky in Moscow.
