Iveta Hylasová Bachmannová
Iveta Hylasová Bachmannová (English hornist and oboist), born in Košice/Slovakia, studied oboe at the conservatory in her hometown with Prof. Stefan Sklenka, then continued her education at the Academy of Music in Prague with Ludmila Ježová and completed summer music courses with Maurice Borgue and Jean-Louis Capezzali. She won several high-ranking competitions as well as the prize of the Czech Music Fund for the best interpretation of contemporary compositions.
She gained her first orchestral experience in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, was principal oboist with the Košice State Philharmonic Orchestra, principal English horn with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and worked as 1st oboist of the Prague Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2003 Iveta Hylasová Bachmannová has been principal English horn of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Solo performances with renowned Czech orchestras and at the “Prague Spring”, concerts with the Harmony Ensemble New York and the chamber soloists of the Deutsche Oper Berlin show her skills as well as several CD recordings, including the Concerto for flute, English horn and orchestra by Honegger under Serge Baudo or a solo CD with music for English horn by Telemann, Haydn, Rejcha and others.
Iveta Hylasová Bachmannová also works regularly with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
