Evrim Güvemli

Solo Clarinet of the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra

Evrim Guvemli started playing the clarinet at the age of 11 at Trakya University State Conservatory with Oktay Bagirov in 1993 and graduated from high school there. He won 1st prize in Rotary Club’s ‘Young Musician of the Year  Contest’ in year 2000 and entered Bilkent University Music Faculty with full scholaship to study with Vladimir Zverev for 2 years. He continued his clarinet and chamber music works at the Istanbul University State Conservatory where he graduated from and participated various master classes with artists like Guy Dangain, Michel Lethiec etc.

He has been giving solo concerts with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra, CRR Symphony Orchestra, Orchetsra’Sion Chamber Orchestra, Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra and more, since 2002. He has been accepted as a permenant member to the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra in 2004, where he has been playing since.

As well as various domestic concerts, he played recitals and chamber music in Strasbourg, Konzerthouse Berlin, Conservatoire Debussy in Paris. He played the ‘Mozart Clarinet Concerto’ conducted by Antonio Pirolli and the world premier of ‘Deniz Sever Clarinet Concerto’ conducted by Alexander Rahbari with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra as a soloist.

Evrim Güvemli continues his solo and chamber music works, together with his position of  Solo Clarinet at the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra.
