Adam LONG

Adam started attending music school in the UK aged 5. Until he was 19 years old he studied the violin and voice, performing in concerts and touring Europe with various string ensembles, orchestras and choirs. Aged 8 he started learning the oboe and went on to perform with various quartets, wind ensembles and bands. At the age of 15 he chose to stop studying the oboe any further and started playing the tenor saxophone. Upon picking up the saxophone it was clear that this was to be Adam’s preferred instrument! Very soon he was performing across Europe in saxophone quartets, big bands, wind orchestras and wind bands as well as taking private jazz lessons. A couple of years later he started to play the soprano saxophone. In his last year of studying at school he performed as soloist with the famous Laurie Holloway Trio at Windsor Castle. On leaving school Adam pursued a career in Quantity Surveying (construction) and discovered musical theatre and dance, however his saxophone was never far from his side. He continued playing and was involved with a number of theatrical shows touring the UK. He also played regularly in his brother’s function band. Adam moved to London in 2004 and laid aside his saxophones to pursue his love for musical theatre and dance. He was soon performing regularly in London Fringe theatre, outside London and, in 2006, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (shows including “West Side Story”, “A Chorus Line”, “Bat Boy”, “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Summer Holiday”). It was whilst taking one of the lead roles in “Barnum” that he was introduced to some ‘circus’ skills. After a successful and highly enjoyable few years, Adam moved back to playing the saxophone more regularly. He joined a London based function band as both saxophonist and vocalist and was playing regular gigs when he made his move to Dubai in the Summer of 2008. Immediately upon arrival in Dubai Adam was hired to perform and continues to do so regularly, using his various skills for a multitude of local and international clients across the GCC.
