杉原 由希子 / Yukiko Sugihara

Principal oboist of Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Part-time lecturer at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts

Graduated from the Faculty of Music, Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts. She received her Master’s degree from the Tokyo University of the Arts.

She won the 76th Japan Music Competition.
Since 2013, she has been a contract artist with the Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Cultural Foundation, giving concerts throughout Japan.
In 2015, she performed Mozart’s „Oboe Concerto“ with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Kenichiro Kobayashi.
In 2016, she studied at the University of Music Mannheim in Germany as an overseas trainee of the Affinis Cultural Foundation.
She is currently Principal Oboe of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
She is a member of the woodwind quintet Amuse Quintet.
She has studied the oboe with Hitoshi Wakui, Kenichi Furube, Takehiko Ura, Yoshiaki Obata, Seiki Aoyama and Emanuel Abbühl.
She is also a part-time lecturer at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts.
