Stacey McColley

Principal Clarinet at Charlotte Symphony Orchestra

A performer known for her vast chamber music repertoire as well as for her commitment to the performance of music from the 20th and 21st centuries, Stacey has been described as a performer of “impressive musicality and a beautiful sound”. Stacey is active in all aspects of music making. She has performed in recital across America and Europe, including at New York’s Carnegie Hall and at several International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFests. She has extensive experience as an orchestral musician. She serves as Principal Clarinet with the Punta Gorda Symphony, the Gulfshore Opera Orchestra, the Opera Naples Festival Orchestra, and bass and Eb clarinet with the Southwest Florida Symphony. She served as bass clarinet with the Sarasota Opera orchestra for many years, as well as Principal  Clarinet with the  Opera Tampa orchestra and second/Eb with the West Coast Symphony, now the Sarasota Orchestra. She performed  frequently with the Florida Orchestra for many years.

Stacey teaches at Florida Southern College, Southeastern University and St. Pete College. She is also a faculty member/performing artist at the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy.

Stacey earned an MA from the University of California, San Diego. Her teachers include Mitchell Lurie, Michelle Zukovsky, Kalman Bloch and William Powell. Stacey is a Buffet Performing Artist and a Vandoren Artist/clinician.
