Biography

He is a professor in the Superior School of Music Manuel Castillo in Seville and belongs to the School of Wind, Brass and Percussion staff as Tutor in Clarinet at the Royal Northern College of Music of Manchester (UK). He collaborates, as well, with different chamber music and symphonic formations, such as the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Ensemble Solistas de Sevilla, Orquesta Manuel de Falla de Cadiz, Orquesta Arsian and Orquesta Ciudad de Almería. He has also collaborated with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and other prestigious formations.

At the age of 9 he begins to play clarinet in his native city with his first teacher Fulgencio Morón finalizing his superior studies with Antonio G. Herrera in the Superior School of Music in Seville, mentioned above, where he obtained the highest qualification and graduated with an unanimous First Prize. He continued his studies with professors J.L. Estellés in Spain and Hans Deinzer in Italy.

As soloist, he has performed in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Norway, China and Portugal, standing out his performances with the Philarmonisches Orchester Bad Reichenhall and the Orchestra Gli Armonici of Palermo where he performed for the first time the work of the Andalusian composer Rafael Diaz "e a lei che la sembra" for clarinet and orchestra. Besides, it is important to stress out his performance in the Festival of Contemporary Music in Bergen, the International Clarinet Meeting of Lisbon, the International Festival of Contemporary Music of Beijing and in the Clarinet Fest 98 in Ostende, representing Spain, where he performed for the first time the work dedicated to him: "Accurate", work of the Sevillian composer Alfonso R. Ramirez. He has also made diverse recordings for RNE radio and Canal Sur TV in Spain.

He has been finalist in several international competitions and obtained the First Prize and the Special Prize to the best interpretation of the work "Orippo" from the composer Manuel Castillo in the International Clarinet Competition City of Dos Hermanas in 1998.

He teaches different courses such as the International course of Prades, International Course of Lisbon, Curso Internacional de Punta Umbría and Academia Buffet Crampon and also in some institutions as the Orquesta Joven de Andalucía. In addition, he has attended, like member of the jury, to diverse national and international competitions like the International Clarinet Competition City of Dos Hermanas with renowned artists such as Karl Leister, Ronald van Spaendonk and Guy Dangain among others.
