Biography

Gregory Barrett, Associate Professor at Northern Illinois University, has performed in China, Finland, Japan, throughout the U.S.A., and with the Lahti (Finland) Sinfonia Chamber Ensemble in Vienna's Musikverein. He currently performs with the Chicago Sinfonietta and the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra and is Director of the annual N.I.U. Clarinet Cornucopia festival. A specialist in music from Finland, his recording, The Finnish Clarinet, is available on the ALBA label. Breitkopf & Härtel has published his reconstruction of Jean Sibelius’s En Saga Septet. He has been active in the International Clarinet Association, serving as Illinois State Chair, judge, performer, reviewer, and research presenter.
