Robert Crowley

Principal clarinet (retired), Montreal Symphony Orchestra

Recently retired as the principal clarinet chair of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Robert Crowley has served as principal clarinet of both the Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra and the Hamilton (Ontario) Philharmonic, and has performed as guest principal clarinet with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (Lorin Maazel conducting). He has appeared as soloist on numerous occasions with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, as well as with other orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Oklahoma City Symphony. As a chamber musician, he has been heard at several music festivals including the Scotia Festival, the Orford Music Centre, the Brevard (North Carolina) Music Center, the Ogunquit (Maine) Chamber Music Festival, and with the Harvard University Summer Chamber Players. Mr Crowley currently teaches at McGill University.
